Earlier last week, Hillwood announced plans to build another data center campus in the AllianceTexas development in far north Fort Worth.
The massive data center will be located on 400 acres near Texas 170 between I-35 and U.S. 377. Hillwood is partnering with T5 Investors and IPI Data Centers Partners Management in the hopes of attracting blue chip companies who need to store large amounts of data.
Interestingly, this campus will be just north of Facebook’s data center – which when all is said and done, could become Facebook’s largest data center in the world.
These surrounding sites will offer a convenient location, an available workforce, and the promise of ample resources. No incentives were offered for this deal, but future occupants could request various incentives from the City of Fort Worth or other local governments.
While start dates on construction were not announced, this project could double the amount of data capacity in North Texas. It is exciting to see the North Texas economy grow and expand into new areas.
