Office Rents in DFW: Up or Down?

I have posted a number of articles on the growth in and around North Texas. For those of us who work with commercial property owners, it has been a slate of good news.

CBRE recently released their annual Tech-30 Report, an in-depth look at tech job growth across 30 North American office markets – and its impact on office rents. For 2017, CBRE ranked DFW as having the sixth greatest rent growth in the nation.

What’s driving tech companies to take a look, and in some cases, make a move to the DFW area? According to CBRE, the depth of the talent pool has played a major role. In fact, the diverse labor pool is attracting tech companies while tech workers are coming to the area because of the job opportunities. Talk about a win-win.

While North Texas used to be almost entirely dependent on the oil and gas industry, DFW is now the largest tech market in Texas.
