Six Flags Mall Getting New Life

With a few hurdles remaining, it looks like Missouri-based Northpoint Development is preparing to replace Six Flags Mall with an industrial complex.

The Arlington mall opened in 1970, on the northeast side of 360 and Division Street. Years of dwindling tenancy and a lack of renovation kept prospects limited. However, with easy access to 360, Interstates 20 and 30, and DFW Airport, the site was an attractive option.

Northpoint has purchased most of the 83-acre site – the remaining pieces of the property could be acquired in another four months. There are tentative plans to build two multi-tenant warehouses including a base of operations for an international client.

While construction may not start for a year, the industrial complex could employ approximately 2,000 people.
